Rabbit Diet
Hay (80-85%): Timothy, orchard, or brome grass hay should be available 24/7 to prevent obesity, gastrointestinal issues, and tooth overgrowth.
Leafy Greens (10-15%): Provide 1–2 cups daily per 4 lbs of body weight. Best options include dark leafy greens like romaine lettuce, kale, cilantro, parsley, and carrot tops.
Pellets (5-10%): Choose a high-fiber (at least 18%), Timothy-based pellet rather than muesli mixes. Limit to roughly 1/4 cup per 6 lbs of body weight per day.
Water: Fresh water must be available at all times, preferably in a ceramic bowl.
Treats (0-5%): Limit treats to 1-2 tablespoons of fresh fruits (e.g., berries, apple without seeds) or carrots per 6 lbs of body weight, given only once or twice a week.
