Chicken Liver Paté
Ingredients:
4 chicken livers
1 tbsp of potato or sweet potato
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp fresh parsley
Instructions:
Instructions:
Boil a small saucepan of water and cook the chicken livers for 3 minutes.
Mash the potato or sweet potato either with a fork or in a food processor. Once you have a good consistency, add the chicken livers and blend again. Don't process too fine.
Mix in the olive oil and parsley before serving to your cat. Ensure it is at room temperature so it does not burn the cat.
Tuna and Catnip Christmas Trees
Ingredients:
1/2 cup canned tuna in water (drained)
1/2 cup whole oat flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon dried catnip
Small star-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a food processor, combine the drained tuna, whole oat flour, egg, and dried catnip. Blend until you have a dough-like consistency.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use the small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out Christmas tree shapes.
Place the Christmas trees on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the treats are golden brown and firm.
Allow the treats to cool completely before serving.
Salmon Ice Cream
Ingredients:
1/2 cup salmon
1/4 cup finely grated pumpkin
1/2 cup lactose free non-sweetened yogurt
1 pinch turmeric
Instructions:
Begin by bringing water to the boil and cooking the salmon. Once cooked, let cool to room temperature and shred with two forks or by hand.
Put the other ingredients in a food processor and process until creamy. Mix in the shredded salmon (as long as the pieces are not too large).
Poor the mixture into ice pop containers or into an empty ice cream tub. Cover it with a lid or, if making popsicle style ice cream, cover with paper and pierce with the sticks.
Once the ice cream is at the right consistency, you can remove from the molds or serve in a dish.
Homemade Cat Food with Fish
Ingredients
1 lb salmon, tuna, or sardines, canned or cooked (bones taken out)
1/2 cup cooked quinoa
1/2 cup pureed sweet potato
1/4 cup finely chopped green beans
1/4 cup carrots, chopped very small
1 tsp dried catnip (optional)
Preparing
Start by gathering everything you'll need for the meal, such as the fish, rice, vegetables, and any supplements or extras you'll be using.
Wash the veggies really well and cut them up into small pieces. If you want, you can use a food processor to chop them up finely.
Cut the fish into small pieces and remove the skin and bones.
Follow the directions on the box to cook the rice, then let it cool to room temperature.
Mix the chopped veggies, cooked rice, and fish pieces in a large bowl.
Mix in any vitamins, minerals, or other pills or additives you are using.
Blend the ingredients in a blender or food processor to make a smooth, thick sauce. If the mixture is too thick, you can thin it out by adding a little water.
Put the mixture into clean, airtight containers, making sure to leave some space at the top for the mixture to grow as it freezes.
Allergen Information
Some cats may be allergic to or unable to eat certain kinds of fish or other foods. Fish, cheese, and wheat are some of the most common allergens in cat food. If your cat starts to itch, throw up, or have diarrhea because of a food allergy, stop giving them homemade food and talk to your vet.
If your cat is allergic to or sensitive to any of the above ingredients, you can replace them with other safe ingredients. For example, you can use chicken or beef instead of fish, and pumpkin or butternut squash instead of sweet potatoes.
To make sure your cat gets the best diet possible, you should find out if it has any allergies or sensitivities and take care of them.
